System Alphion AOLT-4000 is designed to build GPON networks . Decision focused on pass-through Triple Play traffic from the central node to the destination using a passive optical network (PON). One chassis supports up to twelve line cards, which lets you connect up to 2560 subscribers. In this case, a proprietary management system Alphion AEMS is able to work with the two chassis, which in total can build data network for more than five thousand subscribers.

1.8 VDC, 2.5 VDC, 3.3 VDC, and 5.0 VDC)
* 100 to 200 Gbps redundant, high-speed, dual-star backplane provides separate
data plane and control plane connectivity among all shelf circuit cards
* Non-volatile Compact Flash (CF) program storage
* Chassis is 9U (including the bottom fan tray) with a standard ETSI width (400 mm
high by 500 mm wide by 300 mm deep), with 21 in. rack mounting adapters.
* High-availability design provided through redundancy of power, cooling, and
circuit cards to minimize service disruption and downtime
* 14 hot-swappable circuit card slots
